Final Jazz Explosion to Groove up the Shangri-LaOn Tuesday 25th October, the Jazzmandu at 6pm Finale big jam of the Surya Nepal Jazzmandu 2011 festival is once more held in the Shambala Garden at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat. Musicians from different bands play their set and later jam together for the not-to-be-missed high-energy improvised jazz treat that will close the festival. Kathmandu, 23 October 2011 Do not miss the last Jazzmandu 2011 rendez-vous in the Shamabala garden at the Shangrila Hotel in Lazimpat on Tuesday evening as it is a last chance this year for Jazzmandu fans, musicians and music enthusiasts to get intoxicated with the rhythms and grooves of Jazz. In its 9 th year, Jazzmandu has once more featured a wide range of world-class musicians from different cultures and musical backgrounds and new promising young musicians. Jazz in its many forms has gained a wider recognition and has seen a growing interest among audiences in Nepal but also from abroad. It is a great experience for me to be here says Yong Fen Chao, a ban employee from Singapore who came to Nepal specifically to attend the Jazzmandu events. Before finding out about Jazzmandu and deciding to come to the festival for my short holidays, I thought Nepal was about climbing and Mount Everest. I never thought that Jazz and Nepal came together he adds. For the Surya Nepal Jazzmandu 2011 final party, Bconnected, Neighbourhood, Window Seat, the Cadenza Collective and Nick Aggs will all play their sets and then jam together in a delightful fusion of musical energy and improvisations. Promoting peace, the festival shows that music is a truly universal language with the power to bring together a wide diversity of musicians, individual styles, melodies, and improvisations and give a free ride to creative musical dialogues transcending the different backgrounds and cultures of the participating artists. The last jam at the Jazz Bazaar gave us a first taste of a big jam party last Sunday. With the full power and creative intensity of this year's musicians, the Jazzmandu Finale promises its audience an explosion of energy and contagious rhythms to dance the night away. By now the bands and musicians know each other better so the final jam and improvisations are a more enriched musical exchange says Tery Choden, one of the organizers. The festival finale at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat, will start at 6pm and lasts until 10pm.
