Surya Nepal Jazzmandu 2011 - Jazz for the Next Generation
Jazzmandu continues the festival's sustained efforts to promote local talent and to advance musical education among the public in Nepal. For its 9th edition Jazzmandu's Jazz for the Next Generation event features a band competition to encourage and acknowledge upcoming jazz musicians in Nepal. The three bands selected for the Music Competition were the KJC Power Trio, All My Friends and the KJC Quartet. The panel of judges (Jazzmandu 2011 artists) had a tough time deciding on the winners but finally agreed on: All My Friends as Outstanding band and Abishek Bhadra as Outstanding musician. They also won a private workshop with Jazzmandu musicians and talked about this unique experience.
