ADRIAN D'SOUZA QUARTET
Adrian d'Souza became the proud possessor of his drums at the age of five. When he was seven years old he took part in the 'All Bombay Talent Contest ' and won it for four years in succession. At seventeen he was gigging with various Jazz and fusion bands in Bombay.
In 1997 Adrian was offered the drummers seat in Roseanna Vitro's trio. Since then there has been no looking back. New York offered him a chance to study and play with some of the the best musicians in the
NYC / Jersey city area. In 1999, while gigging in Memphis, he met
Peter Erskine at the University of Memphis and wasquick to study with him.
Adrian has shared the band stand with Roseanna Vitro, Eddie Gomez, Art Davis, Joe Temperly, Gary Bartz, Mark Soskin, Dave Kikoski, Ken Werner, John Hicks, Chieli Minucci, Don Braden, Allen Farnham, Bob Albanese, David Budway, Dean Johnson, Fred Hamilton, Bob Bowen, Paul Keller, Carl Clements and Ratzo Harris to name a few.'

The band is a collective of top jazz artists and session musicians in Mumbai, India.
Their eclectic sound is a mix of jazz, funk, and world music.

Tala Faral(Saxophone)

Tala Faral is amongst the few jazz artists who have developed mass audiences while pursuing their own artistic visions. Son of the late Jean Style who was himself a composer, actor, pianist and choir director; Tala himself played a variety of instruments including the cello, the trumpet. But in the nineties he has been focusing on modern jazz using keyboards and saxophone. Influenced by Jazz Legends including John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Cecil Taylor, Miles Davis, Kenny Garret, Dave Liebman and Joe Lovano; Tala went on to develop his own unique style.

Rushad Mistry (Bass)

Also known as ‘The Wall’, Rushad is known for his characteristic improvisational harmonic abilities, sound funk pocket playing, slapping, snapping, popping and altogether grooving. Rushad was a part of Agnee during the launch in 2007 and then left for Canada where he toured with Canadian Pop Rock outfit QED and is now back to rejoin his family.

Dhruv Ghanekar(Guitars)

Dhruv Ghanekar began studying Indian classical music at the age of nine. His love with the guitar began while still in school and in a few years he founded Chakraview, a rock band.
1996 saw the end of Chakraview, and the beginning of his working relationship with Ashutosh Phatak. Dhruv & Ashu co-founded Smoke Studios and begun an extremely successful career at music-makers for ad films and alternative movies, with over 3000 projects delivered to date.
Dhruv continued to study music, and learned under the great sarangi exponent Sultan Khan. In 1997, Dhruv’s desire for a more formal education in music, mainly jazz, led him to the Musicians Institute in California and the Berkley College of Music.He has performed and worked with great musicians like Karl Peters, Louis Banks and Adrian D’souza and continues to compose music in virtually all genres. Together they have scored many successful films including Bombay Boys, White Noise and are now making foray into the west with their first international film “BrokenThread”
