Hailing from Brisbane Australia where he has been charged with “pioneering one of the freshest sounds in the city”, Nick Aggs returns to the Kathmandu Jazz Festival for the fourth time since its inception in 2002. A popular Australian Saxophonist/keyboardist, composer and band leader of Australia’s most respected world fusion band Afro Dizzi Act, Nick has been busy over the past 15 years collaborating with a diverse array of artists such as Senegalese Kora master Jali Buba Kuyateh, Australian Hip Hop legends The Resin Dogs, psychedelic surf rockers The Band of Frequencies and countless others. Nick has had his compositions released on wax as collectable 45’s, award winning albums, on surf flims, documentaries and feature films whilst keeping up an intense performance schedual at various festivals throughout Australia and the world. Nick has recently relocated to Shanghai to study educational techniques with Dr Alan Lim and is looking forward to performing some of his compositions with his old friends Cadenza.
